UPDATE.DOC 4 Mar 1989
MU-Purge, MU-Edit, and Node-Set programs are currently under revision.
Included in the arc file MU-PURGE.ARC are all the same files as
previously released with the exception of MU-PURGE.EXE which is a maintance
release.
The following has been fixed or changed since release 3.0
1. Program now "deletes" users in the USERS file like RBBS-PC does when
the SYSOP deletes a user with sysop function #5
This fixes the problem of getting double entries of the same user in
the user file. This problem only accurred when purging the user file in place.
2. When reinitializing node records with the "IN" command-line switch,
MU-PURGE sets all flags to off except SNOOP.
3. To provide for future growth, the command to delete either messages or
users in the message and user files has been changed from D### to DELD###.
Please note that no deletion will take place unless you use the exact
swith format.
******>> New features to be released some time around the 1st of May, 89;
In MU-PURGE;
1. Msg file delete commands to delete and maintain a certain number of msgs,
and a command to ALWAYS delete a certain number of msgs every time the program
is run. These commands will help those of us that run ECHOMAIL conferences.
2. Msg file expansion commands to; expand the number of msgs allowed
in the file, expand the number of node records and to expand the number of msg
records in the file.
3. Opposite commands to reduce the above expansion.
4. Commands to renumber msgs, recover killed msgs, unprotect msgs, print
newly entered msgs, and move Killed msgs to a separate file for review.
5. Filelocking to make it safe to run while in a network.
6. Read a common configuration file with RBBSMAIL, MU-EDIT, & Node-Set.
In MU-Edit;
1. Remove the current requirement to read a RBBS-PC.DEF type file.
2. Input and output rountines that work at DOS level. This removes the need
to have MU-Edit know COMMPORT operating parameters.
3. Expand the DOC file.
4. NetMail addressing.
5. Full USER file editing.
6. Read a common configuration file with RBBSMAIL, MU-EDIT, & Node-Set.
If you have features that you'd like to see included, please leave me a msg
on my bbs.
